Abu Dhabi is all set to celebrate Janmashtami, a Hindu festival and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi visit on August 23.
Modi will be on a two-day visit to Abu Dhabi to receive the UAE Zayed Award en route to Bahrain, The Indian Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said on Sunday.
His date of visiting will be coinciding with Janmashtami but there is no surety of his presence at the event which will be taking place at the Bochanswasi Akshar Purshottam Swaminarayan Santha (BAPS) temple.
The event will be held for two hours from 5 to 7 pm where several cultural programs will be taken place including a performance of devotional songs,the narration of Krishna Katha (legend of Krishna) and lighting of lamps.
According to a source at the BAPS temple, over 1200 invitations have beensent by the temple authorities.
On August 15, the temple committee had celebrated the festival of RakshaBandhan with1,200 blue-collar workers from across many workers’ accommodations in the UAE.
