Today, Tuesday, the UAE sent an aid plane containing 5 tons of medical supplies and testing devices to Cambodia, to support the efforts of 5,000 health care workers and enhance their capabilities in facing the spread of the COVID-19, this shows the UAE Humanitarian aid role through the emerging coronavirus crisis.

The country’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand, Saif Abdullah Muhammad Al-Shamsi, said in a statement that the UAE is striving to provide assistance in such difficult circumstances to all brotherly and friendly countries, especially the Asian neighbouring countries, due to what the state enjoys. Al Shamsi added that the UAE hopes that these aid and equipment will enhance the capabilities of the medical and nursing staff in Cambodia, and provide them with more protection in the face of the pandemic through the UAE Humanitarian aid.

It is noteworthy that the UAE Humanitarian aid has, to date, provided more than 1,323 tons of aid to more than 110 countries, benefiting about 1.3 million medical workers.

An official source in the foundation said, “The Foundation, under the direction of our wise leadership, is coordinating with UAE embassy in Pakistan in order to develop a plan to distribute and deliver aid to the affected people as soon as possible, and the urgent aid in the first phase includes medicines, tents, blankets and baby milk and targets the affected people in the southern Sindh region. Due to the floods, which flooded parts of the region, especially the cities and towns near the course of the Indus River.
