On this occasion, Marta Lucia Ramirez, Vice President of the Republic of Colombia, Salim Rashid Al Owais, the country’s ambassador to the Republic, received at the presidential palace; To express its thanks and appreciation to the UAE for the support it provides to its country in the context of combating the spread of the emerging Coronavirus, and indicated Colombia’s keenness to strengthen relations between the two friendly countries, which are witnessing remarkable growth at all levels.

For his part, Al Owais said: “A continuation of the UAE’s efforts to support and enhance the capabilities of medical workers in Colombia; To confront corona pandemic, a fourth medical aid plane was flown.

The country also sent an aid plane containing 5 tons of medical supplies and testing equipment to Myanmar; To support the efforts of 5 thousand medical workers and to enhance their capabilities in facing the spread of the coronavirus.

The UAE sent an aid plane containing 5 tons of medical supplies and testing devices to Cambodia, to support the efforts of 5,000 health care workers and enhance their capabilities to counter the spread of the coronavirus.

Saif Abdullah Muhammad Al Shamsi, the country’s ambassador to the Kingdom of Thailand and a non-resident ambassador to Cambodia, said: “The UAE is striving to provide a helping hand in such difficult circumstances to all brotherly and friendly countries, especially the Asian neighbouring countries. Given the state’s distinguished bilateral relations with those countries in all fields ». It is noteworthy that the UAE has, to date, provided more than 1,328 tons of aid to more than 111 countries, benefiting about 1.3 million medical workers.

Al Shamsi added that the UAE hopes that these aid and equipment will enhance the capabilities of the medical and nursing staff in Cambodia, and provide them with more protection in the face of the pandemic.

It is noteworthy that the UAE has, to date, provided more than 1,323 tons of aid to more than 110 countries, benefiting about 1.3 million medical workers.
