These include: preparing a database for trained volunteers as assistants to the medical staff during crises, and using this base to develop plans for dealing with crises, emergencies and disasters, opening the way for those wishing to develop their skills and registering in courses and health programs to obtain accredited specialized certificates, and supporting national human resources to join supporting medical specialities and activating the role Nursing as a national profession for the youth of both sexes and to maintain the spirit of volunteerism and support this by finding appropriate opportunities for them for continuous development.
Registration mechanisms and conditions
His Excellency Hala Thallak talked about the registration mechanism and the conditions for enrolling for the course, which consists of two parts: theoretical and practical. In theoretical training “remotely” will begin with 150 members in each course for two days at the rate of 8 training hours each day, which provides specialized information in the areas of Introducing the program, information on “COVID-19 ″, how to prevent infection, health administrative business skills, and communication skills, patient support and transportation, and medical waste management, and the trainees will undergo a“ remote ”training test.
As for the practical training, it is available for 24 affiliates for one day, 4 hours, in several fields including basic clinical skills such as measuring vital signs, etc., in resuscitation and rescue skills, and the use of personal protective equipment. The trainees will undergo an evaluation test, and the volunteer will be granted a certificate of completion of a training course approved by the training authority.
The national UAE Volunteers campaign is implementing this qualitative volunteer initiative with an integrated plan to implement the first experimental stage, after defining and selecting the first batch of volunteers, as the first training course was launched at the Training Center of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection in Sharjah, and the second batch at the Emirates University in Al Ain. Then the final test phase and assignment of tasks, after the final test for the associates, where they will be joined to the nursing team in the field hospital and define their tasks, and a supervisor will be chosen from the volunteers for each group of trainees to ensure their effectiveness in the field of work and assess their level and impact.
